School without Racism – School with Courage
School without Racism - School with Courage (SOR-SMC) is a programme at national level in Germany run by schoolchildren for schoolchildren. It offers young people the opportunity to play an active part in the climate at school and to tackle all forms of discrimination and racism.
School without Racism is Germany's largest school network with over 2,000 participating schools. However, the idea originated in Belgium. Any school that wants to become a member of the network is welcome. The Municipal Integration Centre of the District of Soest is responsible for the local coordination of the Germany-wide programme. The Municipal Integration Centre advises and supports the schools on how to become a School without Racism, and subsequently acts as a contact and advisor for them. The Regional Coordination Office for Municipal Integration Centres (LaKI) coordinates the "School without Racism - School with Courage" programme at regional level.
